The Picture

Poised so perfectly no one could know
If we did not tell them
You are very good, your emotions do not show
They don’t see the tears behind the smile
Or the anger under the shew

The flowers lay on your shoulder
One hand in perfect grace
Full lips, red from crying we told her
The despair doesn’t even show on your face

Your beauty astounds me, I am surprised
The pain that marked your life
Could have marked your face but Look
The perfect face, the saphire eyes
Your nose, your chin, your smile

My child, My efforts to shape you
You shape yourself, You, my daughter
You are perfect
