Tools – Forgive and Forget

Posted on: March 26, 2010

Yes, there will be people who do us wrong, who hurt our feelings.  So what?  Our job is to see what part we played in creating the situation.  Our job is not to bring ourselves more misery.  Forgiving and then holding onto resentments is not forgiving.  Forgive means to “for-give, to give as before.”  There is only one way to forgive and that is to let go and forget.  It is to let go absolutely and totally, never to drag that issue out again, no matter how tempting it is.
